Descriptive Memory:

Matosinhos em Jazz is one of the most popular jazz festivals in Portugal. A gateway to the memory of jazz in Portugal, where the quality and strength of the music is recognized, this festival has over the years been transformed into a perfect symbiosis between tradition and the trends and creative expressions typical of this movement. This years theme was "The Clarinet".
Just like in Jazz music, in ALVARO MONTANHA design's creativity you don't know which note is going to be played next. Based on an high contrasts illustration with 8 shades of black, we developed a sober poster, based on a creative and powerful hand-drawn design, reflecting the good ageing of the festival and its organization.
The poster continued the success of the previous festivals and triggered positive reactions from the organization, the musicians and the public.
